- Scope of Warranty
The warranty applies only to Hillwood treated hardwood supplied directly by Hillwood or its authorized dealers. The warranty coverage is limited strictly to protection against biological infestations as specified below:- Termite Protection: Hillwood provides a warranty of fifteen (15) years against termite damage, provided that Hillwood Wood Shield Pro (or any other approved protective treatment recommended by Hillwood) is properly applied on the wood before installation and the timber is kept away from direct contact with soil, ground, or damp surfaces at all times.
- Borer Protection: Hillwood provides a warranty of twenty-five (25) years against borer infestation, subject to proper storage, handling, installation, and usage conditions as specified in this user’s manual.

- Exclusions from Warranty
The warranty does not cover damages due to improper handling, storage, misuse, neglect, modification, water exposure, poor workmanship, faulty installation, or structural alterations after delivery. - Shrinkage & Dimensional Variations
Wood is a natural material and may undergo dimensional changes due to climatic conditions. Shrinkage is not covered under warranty, except where verified through Hillwood’s warranty test card procedure, if applicable. - Natural Characteristics of Wood
Variations in grain, color, texture, knots, and natural stains are inherent to timber and are not considered defects. These variations do not affect structural integrity and are excluded from warranty coverage. - Surface Protection & Finishing
Proper protective coating such as primer, sealant, polish, or paint must be applied before installation. Additional protection is mandatory in areas exposed to direct sunlight, rain, moisture, or high humidity. Failure to apply adequate surface protection will void the warranty. - Storage & Site Conditions
Timber must be stored in a dry, covered, and well-ventilated area. Direct contact with soil, standing water, or damp surfaces must be strictly avoided. Improper storage conditions will void the warranty. - Installation Guidelines
Installation must be carried out by qualified carpenters or professionals following standard industry practices. Adequate clearance must be provided to accommodate natural wood movement. Damage arising from improper fixing, forced installation, or non-standard practices is not covered under warranty. - Warranty Claim Procedure
